All You Need to Know About Scarsdale School Incident

Videos of the horrifying event, in which a young girl is brutally attacked by female classmates, including three attackers and one victim, began to circulate on social media on January 19. The incident took place on January 16 at Scarsdale High School, one of the top American schools, which is located in Lahore’s posh “DHA” area.

In an incident, Aleha Imran, one of two students who had been best friends since kindergarten, was attacked by their classmates Jannat Malik, Kainat Malik, and Noor Rehman as a result of frequently sharing videos of drug usage at school with their fathers and refusing to accept drugs offered by the assailants at the school.

Aleha was taken by Jannat Malik, her sister Kainat Malik, and friends from the school beneath the stairs near the cafeteria where the CCTV cameras weren’t set up. Aleha was mercilessly tormented by the students after they had taken her there.

Three adolescent girls were seen pinning their classmate to the ground while sitting on her head and holding her by the hair in the video, which has gone viral on Twitter. In the video, it was apparent and audible that the group was abusing the victim physically and verbally. As one of the ladies could be seen kicking the victim to the forehead while documenting the event on her phone, they were also urging the victim to “say sorry.” Because the girl won’t apologize, she is continually hit, tormented, and struck in the face. A boy and one of the attacker girls taped the footage. In the background, the boy can be heard pleading with the girl to stop, but the girl with blue hair is adamant that she won’t let the victim go until the victim apologizes.

Imran Younis, the victim’s father, has claimed that three students attacked his daughter after she refused to consume the drugs they had offered. His daughter was being pressured into a drug lifestyle by drug addict attackers who were her daughter’s classmates; as a result, he had to show the families of the attackers the video evidence of them doing drugs during a school party. Therefore, when he exposed them, the attackers assaulted her daughter in school as revenge.

Father claims that his daughter was pinned down on the floor, punched in the face, and kicked by two of the females out of which one was also filming the incident on her phone. The primary suspect in his daughter’s attack was the drug user and assailant who had offered his daughter a dosage of a drug to inhale at the school, which his daughter refused to accept. He further asserted that during the assault, the assailants took a gold chain and his daughter’s locket. He proceeded by adding that the assailants tried to strangle her daughter to death and that one of the females had a dagger in her possession. He stated that the now-viral videos have severely disturbed his and his family’s minds and that his daughter is experiencing post-attack trauma.

Action Taken Against Scarsdale School Incident Culprits

After a video of the victim being beaten by female students went viral on social media and the victim’s father, Imran Younis reported the incident, the police filed a first information report (FIR) against the suspects under sections 337A I 354, and 379 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The four suspects were detained on Friday, 20th, January as a result of the FIR, and the court on Saturday approved pre-arrest release in return for surety bonds totaling Rs50,000 for each of them. Additionally, under the court’s ruling police was instructed to not to detain the girls until January 30 allowing them time to pay the surety bond.

According to the media, the father has also requested that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) take legal action against whoever posted the video of the attack on his daughter online.

Moreover, three-person inquiry team was also assembled by the district’s educational authority to probe the occurrence. The inquiry committee was given 10 days to complete its job and report its findings. The girls were suspended by the school administration in the meantime as they awaited the outcome of the inquiry.

On Tuesday, January 24, the deputy district officers for Cantt and Model Town, as well as the female district officer for Lahore Elementary School Education, completed the District Education Authority’s report.

The report states that the involved students were “friends,” and that the argument started after they showed their parents pictures of a “student party outside the school.”

The report continued by stating that the cited school lacked discipline and lacked security cameras at the cafeteria entryway. The inquiry’s investigators have proposed a Rs.600,000 fine or the suspension of the school’s registration. The authorities have also urged that the students who attacked the victim be expelled.

The inquiry report, which contains these suggestions, was also shared with the Lahore DC, who had requested the probe as soon as the circumstance came to light.

The school has already announced the expulsion of the assailants on January 25, 2023, in response to the report’s recommendations.

Parties Involved in Scarsdale Incident Hailed From Prominent Political Families

It’s interesting to note that every party involved in this affair is powerful and has a long political history.

According to rumors, the culprits Jannat Malik and Kainat Malik are related to Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, a senator for the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and minister of state for petroleum. Musadik Malik, meanwhile, has denied any association with the offenders. The victim’s father, Aleha Imran, is claimed to be a top journalist who worked for several news outlets and comes from a political family as well. Also, Scarsdale International School Lahore is owned by Humayun Akhtar Khan and his brother Haroon Akhtar who come from political family.

The fact that prominent figures were involved and the assaulter girls were from a political family made it simple for them to flee. They pleaded with the court to grant pre-arrest release, arguing they had been implicated in a “false, unjustified, and contrived case.” Judge Zafar Iqbal of the Lahore Sessions Court subsequently authorized pre-arrest bail till January 30 and instructed each accused party to provide a surety bond for the amount of Rs 50,000.

The revelation comes as authorities have launched a search for the four female school students who are suspected of abusing a classmate.

Police launched raids at the accused’s homes, but the family members escaped the police encirclement in the affluent neighborhood of the province capital.
